Marisa Pia Capua – Of Counsel Attorney

Marisa_CapuaMarisa P. Capua brings more than 20 years of experience in litigation and transactional law and focuses her business law practice at the Capua Law Firm on residential and commercial real estate transactions and litigation.

Prior to joining Capua Law in 2010, Ms. Capua served as President and In-House Counsel for EWM Title, a wholly owned subsidiary of HomeService of America, Inc., an affiliate of Berkshire Hathaway Company. She maintained oversight and management of the firm’s litigation practice concerning contract and title disputes and provided counseling to realtors, developers, and lenders at all stages of commercial and residential real estate transactions.

Before EWM, Ms. Capua was a litigation associate at the Miami, Florida law firm of Rothman & Tobin and corporate litigation counsel for Citigroup/Travelers Property Casualty Company, where she handled an array of real estate litigation matters including title defect and boundary disputes, foreclosure actions, and actions to quiet title and related disputes. The case of Chery v. Southeast Service Corp., 644 So. 2d 149 (Fla. 1st DCA 1994), is indicative of the dedication and caliber of Ms. Capua’s prior engagements.

Conversant in Italian and Spanish, she earned her Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1992 and her B.S. in Political Science and Italian from the Florida State University in 1988. She is a member of the Florida Bar and the Real Estate Section of the Florida Bar.
