Genevieve A. Mente joined the Capua Law Firm in 2015 and focuses her practice at the law firm primarily on construction contract management, business transactions, condominium law, and litigation including construction disputes and creditor’s rights matters. Genevieve’s intellectual curiosity, extensive business experience, and facility with cutting-edge technologies lie behind her passion for solving client’s legal issues and disputes.

While at Capua Law Firm, Genevieve has litigated cases in both state and federal courts in North Carolina, the North Carolina Court of Appeals, the North Carolina Supreme Court and U.S. bankruptcy courts. She has also represented clients in FINRA arbitrations, EEOC proceedings, and in administrative hearings involving municipal governments. Prior to joining Capua Law Firm, Mente practiced for several years at The Vetro Law firm in Boone, North Carolina where her areas of focus included civil litigation, real estate and probate transactions.

Genevieve is conversant in French and earned her Juris Doctor degree from the Levin College of Law at the University of Florida in 2009, and her B.A. in French from the University of Florida in 2000.

Genevieve serves her community as a member of the policy committee of Two Rivers Community School and a board member of the Buffalo Cove Outdoor Education Center. She has served on the executive committee of the High Country W.A.T.C.H. and the Board of Directors of the Boone Area Cyclists. Genevieve has been a private pilot since 1992 with tail wheel and sea plane endorsements, enjoys competitive cycling, horses, white water kayaking, and gardening.
